Pro Forma
2021 // Found drywall panels, wood, joint compound, nails, spray paint, fiba-tape

There is a beauty in the objects of our built environment which we take for granted – the faux marble vinyl tile; the unfinished, unpainted piece of door trim; the grey bare drywall panel; the yellow mesh of the fiba-tape. The ultimate aim to be part of something more, their qualities are quickly hidden, covered, painted, and patched over. They are forgotten, their individual nature smoothed and subsumed into a greater whole. Pro Forma attempts to reexamine and perhaps reappreciate these everyday objects and products found in the world of building and construction through their re-composition in unconventional ways.

The elements in this work were either directly found on construction sites, in the trash, or were left over from previous building projects.
